Hurd made rods from 1940 to about 1951 in Detroit  and Idrian, Michigan.  This one is  in excellent condition in the original carry case.   No tears and the brass zipper works fine.  The rod is spring steel and unplugs from the handle reel combo.  It is serial number  A97027.
