8’ # 6 line 2 tips bag & tube Rod was built 1957 & is marked on rod with orginal owners name Donald Valley Don was a very active Michigan sportsman He supported many conservation groups such as Trout & Duck Unlimeted. He was a long time customer of Lyle Dickerson & Paul Young I first met him when I was about 17 years old working with Paul Young. He visted the young shop many times. He all ways had a rod on order for his use or as a gift Allso being a great supporter of Mr. Dickerson He would bring along his latest Dickerson rod I may of wiggled this rod about 1958 At this time I learned that The Dickerson rod was not as parabolic as the Young. About 1976 I was visting Lyle s shop In Belair 40 miles north of me and Don Valley Showed up to have his rod re finished I belived it was this rod I remember his Fish Tales about useing this rod with his 24 ft. ausable river boat. About 1980 I was floating the Ausable with George Griffith Founder of Trout Unlimited And we met up with Don In his boat he was useing this rod These kind of meeting on the river led to a lot of great fish stories George also owned a Dickerson It was a 8015 Guide. When Don got to old to handle this rod about 90 years old He sold it to the present owner He now thinks he is geting old and asked us to find a new owner to fish it It is in excellent condition ready for 50 + more years
