8’6”#5 To 6 line 2 tips bag & tube Rod was built 1937 & is dated on rod It is all orginal in excellent condition The reel seat is Mr. Dickerson s early type with the wood exposed at the rear Allthough we sold a 861711 with the full cup style butt cap the rod was dated 1933. It all so has a ring style hook keeper as used on his early rods Allthough he was useing his nickle silver full cup butt cap as early as 1933 He used the exposed wood one on request The rod is straight ferrule fit is good I have lawn cast it and like it with a Wf.5 I could enjoy fishing this rod all day It is now 82 years old & ready for the next 82 The orginal owners name M A. PIXLEY is on the rod in Mr. Dickerson hand writing Mr. Pixley was a long time customer and promoter of Dickerson rods. In the book Dickerson the man and his rods. M A . Pixley s name shows up a lot. see page 33 & 35 It looks like This 861711 was his favorite & he recommended it to his fishing friends
