2154-7. Paul H. Young Perfectionist
2154-7. Paul H. Young Perfectionist
7 1/2'. #3 to 4 line, 2 tips, bag and tube. Rod was delivered October 1960. I refinnished it about five years ago. It looks like it was fished once then just displayed. The rod was built for a career military man. I remember working on many rods for him while at the Paul Young company. He did a lot of corresponding with Paul Young about rods and fishing. Im sure this rod had lots discussion followed by fish tales. This rod has the lightest tips we made. It's for # 16 and smaller dries. Ernie Schwiebert used this model when he fished 20 X 20. # 20 flies and 20 ft. leader. A copy of a letter to the owner by Paul Young signed by him dated 4/7/60 will go with the sale. Mr Young died 4/28/60. This is one of the last rods that Paul Young would of worked on. The writing on the rod is by Jack Young. I was away at Air Force Basic training in Texas at the time this rod was delivered. A fishing buddy stopped by today and we lawn cast the rod. It's reel nice for me with a DT3 or WF 4. We both liked it with 3 to 4 lines.
