8’ number five line, 2 piece, two tips, bag and tube. Built 1958 this is a rare para 15 only a few were made with this butt taper. It is smaller diameter in the handle area and has a ventilated grip making it a little more parabolic. It also has a two ring reel seat only a few of these were made. Paul Young's own personal rod was this taper. The first rod I made for myself in 1957 at the Paul Young Company was this taper. This rod was built for Bill. A frequent visitor to the Young shop. I was 22 years old in 1958 and remember working on this rod and Bill reporting how it performed on the Au Sable River. I thought of him as the unofficial tester for Young rods. He had many of them. It is now 61 years later and I have this rod in my hands again. I have put a new cork handle and reel seat as the original.
