7’ 6” # 5 to 6 line 2 piece 2 tips bag & tube Built 1958 ser.#3368 Rod has orginal owners name & date on it One tip has a professedly done scarf repair 8”back from tip top This work was done by Bob Taylor who has 40+ years experence building cane rods with the Leonard rod co. & under his own name His work is the best I belive this tip will last forever Mr. Young designed this model for his wife Martha Marie It is one of the worlds best all around 7’6” trout rods It is based on a 14/64 ferrule It has a little more backbone than the Perfectionist which has a 13/ 64 ferrule I was 20 years old and working with Mr. Young at the time we made this rod for a local Doctor in the Detroit area It has a thumb rest ground in the handle I rember Mr. Young puting a Thumb rest in while a customer waited and tryed the fit saying A little deeper or thats just right I soon Became the expert on grinding in a thumb rest I refinished this rod about 5 years ago It shows very little use since I retained the orginal writeing by Mr. Young
