7’6” #5 line, 2 tips, bag and tube. Rod was built before 1955, before serial numbers. It is in excellent original condition. It has the heavy duty aluminum tube. Tubing was left over from the Willow Run Bomber Plant, after WWII. This model was designed by Martha Marie (Mrs. Paul H.) Young. I remember her telling me how the Perfectionist was just a little light for the 16”-plus browns she had a habit of catching in the Au Sable River. Paul made this model for her, and named it the Martha Marie. Who knows, maybe she was the first lady rod designer. She was a good caster and fisherman. This is the first step in designing a rod. The Martha Marie is one of the best all around 7 1/2’ 5-weight rods ever. Here is one made by Paul and has his all original writing. The original label is on the aluminum tube. It’s a great piece of rod-making history to fish and collect.
